I personally would go with the latter, and not simply from corporate
sources either. Both of the deckers in our group have written their own
programming suites, with the number of deckers out there how many of them
are going to have created their own languages (and even OSs).
I would suggest that, especially with the direct neural interface provided
by a datajack, people would use a very wide variety of systems, more
instinctive for some, more rigid or more forgiving; iconic, linguistic or
mathmatic. The datajack will have drastically increased the output of
programmers all over the world, and seen those operating in languages not
suited to the way their mind works drastically dropping behind.
Consider also that some of the programmers (Deus, Magera...etc, including
the SKs) have to be using unique languages, literally unique. But one of
the reasons those programmers were brought into being is to get their corp
ahead of the game. Why keep those lights under bushels when you could
market their languages and make a bit of profit.
