Whoah,

After reading the post about the British Fomori and Quadrepeligic Night
One Otaku, I think some GMs are having a bit of a prob dealing with
munchkins trying to create the super character with oodles of flaws and
edges. Personally, like someone else said, the GM is god. If an edge is
potentially unbalancing to your game, don't allow it. In the campaigns I
GM, I allow practically all the flaws, but I don't allow a whole bunch of
edges liked focused concentration or night vision. I don't mind my PCs
getting like 2 to 5 extra points for a reasonable flaw but I can't stand
munchkins trying to make an invincible character with strange flaws which
justify him having very powerful edges.

It's ridiculous when a GM has to try to create insanely powerful foes for
a PC to fight. No matter how powerful your PC gets, there are so many
ways to scare him into not always using the full capacities of his
abilities. You don't have to be a monstrous GM, you just have to always
remind the character how 'mortal' he is. And you know what they say 'bout
foolish mortals?

: )

Lates,

I deal with this in a very simple way,...so simple in fact that all my
players no better than to munch their way to the top. If you make your
character's extraordinarily strong,...I'll do the same with my foes. I'll
conform my stories to their characters,...so if they have flaws, that have
been taken with respect to roleplaying and not because of major-munching,
then I'll keep in mind to be careful not to make things impossible. If
someone wants a godzillion edges,...sure go ahead. I'll make everything more
difficult, and I am creative enough to let it seem logical as well that
Lonestar starts carrying portable Assault Cannons.

Amen to that, brother. My players (and my partners) have learned that
too. Thank God for Nightlife, eh? ;)

I allow Edges & Flaws, in fact, one of my player is a
troll minotaur with Toughness, bone lacing titanium
and dermal armor. His nickname is "Tank", he has
Unarmed Combat (Boxing) : 5 (7), but I (the GM) kicked
his ass legit with a simple human mage Thai Kickboxer
(7) toying with him with Stunball, Death Touch,
Manaball and Increased Reflexes +2.
He may have 15 Body, 12 Strength but the little troll
only got 3 Willpower!

So he now learn a valuable lesson (for once!), he
can't munchkin a ressourceful GM.
