Well, I run a couple of campaigns, so I have addressed the problem of
people bringing old charachters into a new campaign. I've found that
once you get beyond 50-60 karma, it's no good at all. Make a new
one. Lower than that, and one member of the party is a bit more
rounded, or specialized, but it's not too unbalancing. The problem I
have is new charachters in an old campaign. If anyone has any cures
for this, let me know.
I've only ever seen two gender-benders. Both were hetero guys
playing attractive gals. In both cases, the guys played all of those
traits they liked in women. Needless to say, these gals were a tad
strange, as no woman I have met has actually combined a sweet
disposition with a willingness to kill. Maybe I just haven't met
enough women.
<<<warning. I'm not trying to be sexist. If you are a woman who

mail me. No flames, please.>>>
I've never tried to play a woman myself, as I can't really think in
terms of being attracted to guys. The attempts I've seen haven't been
that bad though.
Well, I've rambled enough..

we bluff our way through. If that fails, we shoot anything that
moves, get what we want, and then shoot our way out."
"I didn't say it was a _good_ plan."

What we started doing for new characters in the old campaign is giving the
newbies karma based on how much the group had earned, to bring them up
to speed.

Yes, this is the biggest problem I've seen: As Tyger said, Guys in girl suits.
Rather than spread bullshit on how men and women act, ask yourself: "Is this
character believable". That, after all, is what really matters.

Watch "Bubblegum Crisis" or "Dirty Pair". Or "Street
Fighter" and "Mortal
Kombat". Better Yet, "Thelma & Louise".

Being a woman involves a LOT more than being attracted to men, or women if
you're a lesbian. In fact, a professional runner of either sex will leave
their attraction at home while on a run or meeting Mr. Johnson.
