Most definately, though I'm not sure how SII varies to SI on this point.

However in SI phys adepts get more magic (at grade 1) so more lovely powers.
They also get get access to masking if they have astral perception. They also
(house rule) get to use shielding if they have the sorcery skill. Obviously
they can't use centering though I haven't considered dispelling yet. I suppose
with astral perception it may be possible but it sounds more like a mage/shamans
realm to me.

Conjuring adepts get to call great forms and shielding. Same for the shamanic
adept.

As far as I can see sorcery adepts get no powers except shielding. As the others
all require astral perception at the very least.

Looking at this I suddenly realise just how much of a disablity being any sort
adept apart from physical is. Without astral perception the other adepts really
lose out bad when it comes to initiation, as by far the most powerful metamagic
available to mage/shaman initiates is centering. Especially when you need to
cast powerbolt at that sam over there with a body of 12, or zap the unfriendly
fixer with a mana bolt who just sold you out.

So I have a suggestion, how about making astral perception available to all
adepts as a power you can buy. The way I would implement it is say it was
only available to initiates and it would cost 2 magic points. These magic
points would actually reduce the magic total thus requiring the adept to take
a permanent geasa, ie you wouldn't get the chance to lose it on initiation.
This way it gives some reason for adepts to continue initiating and also
inspires some better role playing through the geasa.

So I await your flames/comments/suggestions.
