The other thread on this got me thinking so I went back and re-read the 2nd
ed. Companion. The physad of our group want the take the edge that allows
her to summon either a city spirit or hearth spirit, depending on which one
she chooses at character creation.

Can anyone that's had any experience with using this in a game give me an
idea of how good or bad it might be before I allow it?

Cheers.

By letting your adept having the ability to conjure is
giving him too much power. There is a reason why they
didn't continue this edge in the 3rd editon. If he
wants to use magic and conjuring then let him take the
magical sense adept power that lets him use sorcery
and conjuring but also puts limits to his ability and
is in general more balanced. If he insists then
disallow him to take the invoking metamagic technic
(if he is clever he is bount to ask for it..).
