After getting word through Doom from the Lords of FASA, I can no longer
offer the "official" bound and signed copies of the NERPS manuals. Even
though they are offered at cost, it can be considered selling and FASA
said "stop it".

No kidding?

That's terrible. I thought the folks over there had a lighter view of
that sort of thing, -especially- because you're not making a profit.
Guess not...legal departments are legal depatments, eh?

Oh, well. It just means having to hit the more...shadowy...markets for
'em. =^) Right up there with Doom ][...

No kidding. NERPS may be in violation of FASA's copyrights. Therefore FASA
must request that it stop. That's how copyright law works.

Actually, the concern is a piss-poor legal precedent that says something
like "If FASA ever failed to enforce thair copyright, they can be said to
have made it public domain." So they did it not because they wanted to,
but because they had to to protect the larger picture.

Right; basically, an "I'm sorry, Mr. Hayden, but we have to..." Well, it
actually makes more sense this way.

So I guess what it boils down to is how hard they're looking and where.
I can't imagine they'd even -think- of looking towards a college campus
parked up in Minnesota for major copyright violations...do you?

BTW, competely off-topic: Has anyone here ever scanned or had access to
scanned images of the color artwork found in the various SR tomes? I'm
always passively hunting for new sources of interesting wallpaper that
makes Windows a little less miserable to run... I don't remember seeing
anything on it in the FAQ...

Thanks,
