Hey all,

Just a quick reminder to PLEASE use the [OT] tag for off-topic threads. It
seems that it hasn't been employed as frequently as it should have since
the list move..

BTW, what does everyone thing about instituting a [META] tag? This would
include such posts as "Why aren't I getting any posts?" and optionally
(PLEASE!!) the t-shirt related threads. Basically posts that relate to the
list itself and not Shadowrun would/should be designated as META threads.

Comments?

-Adam

Sounds good to me, Adam... naturally, posts about new initiate abilities for
Adepts should be included there, as well, as that's discussing metamagic...
;)

I like it...with the possible exception that it may encourage or condone the
extended use of such tags to discuss stuff that is really [OT].

Using it for the t-shirt threads alone would be a blessing. (Especially
since everyone likes to get creative with their subject lines...ALL the
time).

But then you fine folks do such a wonderful job of controlling this mob of
Unwashed Villagers, that you have my complete and utter trust. :) (As I
quickly wipe off my mouth).

How is that any different from the current tags? They seem to work fine
enough, most of the time.

It is too long for one thing..for another we can barely get folks to
use the [OT]..much less change the subject line when the subject
changes..And I know I have been guilty of this from time to time..but
I try..

I like the idea, but [META] isn't obivious to newbies. Something like
[LIST] makes more sense. Also, since List interested people and Shirt
interested people aren't the same group extended discussions about the
shirts should fall under [TSHIRT] or whatnot. I've seen several
people already trying to use that tag.

A friend of mine is on a mailing list for Miata owners and
the have several tags to handle this sort of thing.

(NMC) = No Miata Content: Nothing directly relating to
Miatas. It could be funny stories about cars or whatever. We have this in
the [OT] tag.

(LMC) = Low Miata Content: Some stuff about the car but not
in depth. Could be a reference to the car but little else. For us this would
be akin to the occasional "Life imitates SR" new stories and such. They
relate to SR but aren't about mechanics or rules & such.

And of course the rest of the messages are unmarked and
discuss mufflers and tires and stuff like that.

Along these lines I'll suggest a [LSRC] or [LSC] tag for Low
Shadowrun Content. While this isn't any more helpful to the newbies, it's
full meaning says more than the [META] tag would.
Of course anything we use will immediately start a threat
marked with the tag asking what the tag does and 15,000 replies saying the
same thing. But that's life on the list I guess.

I am not quite sure I personally understand what you are saying here Adam.
You mean when we post anything concerning the t-shirts, we put (Shirts) or (T-
Shirts) or something similar?
