1) When is it supposed to move?

2) Where is it supposed to move to?

(Sorry of this is redundant, but I've been a little out of touch
with the list for the past week or so... :^) )

Thanks!
mike

I'm not even sure. I know the server name, but I don't know what the full
hostname will be.

Mark? Hellooo? ;)

Argh... *cringe*... why bother moving? Is it because of a lack of space,
or something else... Mr. Imbriaco (Sorry if I butchered that with bad
spelling)... couldja tell us all of the news on this, pwease? :)

<begin gripe at person not bothering to look it up themselves>
Look through the archives. The reasoning was described when the move was
announced.
<end gripe>

<begin polite answer>
To summarise for you, it's because ListServ Lite (the mailing list software
used here) has a limit of 500 subscribers, which we're at. So new people
can't get on. Furthermore, Mark no longer has direct control over the
machine which the list is on, limiting his ability to adminster the list.

So, we're moving to a new machine (which Mark can adminster better), and new
mailing list software (MajorDomo, a free list server that doesn't have the
limit of 500 subscribers). And Mark explained all this when he announced the
move was going to occur.

Thank you for mentioning that :)

Not to mention we can run more lists, which is an added bonus.

Incidentally, I assume we'll just port the subscriber list over to the new
software. I don't see one negative point to this move -- Noc, could you
enlighten me as to why it seems like a bad idea to you?
