Ok, this note covers a couple of things . . .

1) If you are going away for the Thanksgiving holiday and might have a
quota problem, make sure you set youself to nomail or your account might
spam. This will irritate me.

2) I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon for the holiday and won't be back
probably until Sunday evening or Monday morning (depending on snow
conditions), of course. I won't be around to deal with any problems that
might crop up.

3) Behave youselves. This is not an excuse for a party :-)

I'm in a really good mood today. So, with that in mind -- I recently had a
rather long drawn out discussion with one of the listmembers, about OT and
all that crap. The FAQ's were posted earlier this week, and Dvixen killed
a thread yesterday. This thread is still in progress. Drop it now. Drop
ALL threads even remotely off topic.

I should also make note that Dvixen *does* have the right to kill threads,
post warnings to listmembers, privately advise them of things such as
snipping, off topic posting, ecetera. The *only* difference between her
function and my function on the list is I have the list password, as does
Mark Imbracio.

For those of you who are newer here, perhaps some introductions should be
in order.

I'm Adam Jury. I'm Assistant Fearless Leader, after replacing JD Falk in
May 1996. I've been on this list for almost 2 years now, so Old Timer
status must be approaching one day.

Mark Imbracio, who is poking his head out of his shell lately, is Fearless
Leader. He runs the server that this and other lists run on, and without
him, we would have no lists. He has the all-mighty power on this list,
capable of even deleting me :)

Dvixen is the FAQ Flunky, and responsible for basic list maintenance since
I don't have as much free time as I used to. As I said before, she's my
equal, except for she can't do such things as unsubscribing you, viewing
concealed subscribers, etc. No, she won't give out her real name. I will,
but it's gonna cost big bucks.

If you have any comments or questions, that's what I'm here for.

2 years? You sure?
I could've sworn I'd been around a while before you turned up....

Hmmmm....
(I think I've only recently passed the 2 year threshold)

I think it'd be more accurate if you called her your Leutenant... DAMN my
spellings suddenly evapourated...

I wonder how long I've been here... I joined the list when it was at
hearn... it moved like 3-4 months after I joined. Can any of the old
timers clue me in?

According to Gurth a while back, he said it moved to Itribe in Sept '95.
So, I'd say you've been here about 2 1/2 years....

Well, I first got on for a while in Dec '95, then off for a bit, then back
on, then off for almost a month whem my ISP went bankrupt, then back for a
couple months and then was when I applied and got the AFL position --
something I wasn't expecting at all.

So probably closer to 1 1/2 years actual time, or a couple thousand hours,
however you want to put it :)

The move to iTribe was in or around October 1995.

I was on the list at Hearn for a while but I can't remember how long.
At least a few months.

Of course, I left for a year or so when I started work, so I guess it
doesn't really count...
