Okay, guys, here's the idea. The runners are
approached by a Pretty Young Thing (of either sex, but
a woman would probably work best). Someone is trying
to kill the PYT, but s/he doesn't know why. The thing
is, the PYT can't remember any of the last week,
before s/he woke up in a hospital two days ago. The
doctors told the PYT that s/he had suffered some
really bad trauma - including head injuries, which
explains the amnesia - and was lucky to be alive.
Since then, s/he went home to live his/her normal
life, but there have already been two attempts on
his/her life. S/he can't think of any reason why
anyone would want to kill him/her, so the PYT thinks
it must be to do with something that happened during
the blank period. If you want to, though, you don't
have to be too obvious about that. Have the runners do
some digging to determine that the PYT's life is
extremely ordinary and no one would have any reason to
want to kill him/her. Or to be REALLY mean, have a
number of people have motive - but none of them are
really involved. Or to be a REAL bastard, have a group
of them, or even ALL of them involved.
Anyway, the PYT wants the runners to a) protect
him/her and b) find out, and stop, whoever is trying
to kill him/her.
So who's really behind it? Well, that's where is gets
interested. See, there's this megastar (musical,
simsense, trideo, whatever), who has a reputation as
being celibate. "I'm saving myself for the right
man/woman." - that kind of thing. And that's part of
his/her allure. The thing is, though, this star is NOT
celibate and is, in fact, quite promiscuous - but to
keep the allure, s/he has his/her conquests killed
afterwards. Or to be really twisted, they're a
complete sicko and always kill the conquests during
the act of sex. (Depending on how you're feeling, you
could have lots of fun with this - have the star be
ostensibly straight (or gay!), but in truth have the
opposite orientation.)
The PYT is the star's latest conquest, but survived
the initial assassination attempt (or wasn't
COMPLETELY killed during sex :) ), but DID suffer
amnesia. The star doesn't realise (at least at first)
that the PYT doesn't remember what happened and is
desperate to kill him/her before s/he can rat on the
star, destroying the star's image.
You can expand it how you like. In the game I intend
to use this in, we're currently involved in the leadup
to the 2057 election. My star is going to be a human
and a big supporter of Kenneth Brackhaven monetarily
(although not so obviously in public), but has a
secret weakness - elven girls - that none of his
Humanis friends knows about. So he's DOUBLY anxious to
cover up the PYT.
Well, what do you think? Like, dislike? Any
suggestions on ways to improve it?
Oops...last thing I nearly forgot to mention. This
idea was inspired by Cliff Richards and Brooke
Shields. Yes, I have a twisted mind. :)
