I think so, because nowhere are separate prices given for aerodynamic an
non-aerodynamic grenades. AD-grenades have the disadvantage of greater
scatter than NAD ones, so the Holy Game Balance(tm) should still be more
or less level...

The better aerodynamics wouldn't be hard to achieve -- just stuff a
frisbee full of explosives and fragments, add a detonator, and there you
have your AD grenade.

Granted, but I was more concerned with the fictional manufacturing
complications as opposed to game balance. Obviously, in the real
world, the ultimate effectiveness of an item is rarely, if ever related to it's price.
But I suppose Shadowrun isn't exactly set in the real world.

I guess that's one way to look at it. Probably not if you want to
live a long time, though. Regardless, I see your point.

The frisbee would, of course, be a very primitive AD grenade. No doubt
Ares makes more sophisticated ones, but the general idea will be the same.

BTW, the only real-world examples of aerodynamic grenades I know of are
the American Ring Airfoil Grenades (RAGs) that were designed to be fired
from a launcher, not thrown. Anyone know if these were ever adopted by a
military?

Not yet, but according to some friends of mine the US has been evaluating
3 different airfoils at Ft Hood for the past couple of years - still no
sale.
