Who cares?
Well, it seems from Burning Bright and a few other hints that the
quality of military equipment will soon be a factor in fighting the
Hor...shhhhhhhh I mean Invae errr Insect Spirits. And Fields of Fire threw
open the can of worms (as did Shadowplay) when they started talking about
Corp wars.
Frontier: Aerospace (especially the space part, the better to
avoid magic with)
Threat Axis: Other fighters, air spirits, elementals and oh NO!
Space Weapons! Plus LAVs, choppers, SOMs, SAMs, UAMs, groundfire
(Lasers, railguns, smartshells).
Sensors: Well, radar, ladar, thermal, TV (as in TV-guided
missiles), ELINT (well, passive radar but cool acronym), sound (as in
sound ranging) Mk-I eyeball and Mk-IA astral eyeball, any other suggestions?
Weaponry: See threat axis

Any suggestions? (Note, that this may get rather technical but
for purposes of plausible game-reality, and if everyone is really bored
with this thread then we'll take it off-list).

Also realize that military technology eventually winds up in the "civilian"
technology market. And next to space research, aeronautical research
technologies are the most cutting edge.

Should've put a smiley, that was a joke. I definitely agree with
the above point, just trying to use a little levity to lighten up what is
for most people a hopelessly boring technical post.
And I agree about the single-mission airframe, like A-10 and
(retired, alas!) A-6. And the "cheap and nasty" F-20 Tigershark that
Northrup couldn't sell th' govmint is a pretty hot dogfighter.

Who said? They're still in service, becuase there aren't any adequate
replacements.

Don't get me started on the Tigershark, please. If you though my tirades
before were annying, you don't want me to go off on the 'shark's Big Screw.
