I don't think anyone mentioned any male Alexis in this thread, that's now
just about died anyway, but I have to mention this: last night, I was
watching Angel (the Buffy The Vampire Slayer spinoff) and noticed that one
of the lead actors in it, the guy playing Wesley, is called Alexis
somethingorother.

Alexis Denisof.

Don't know where the last name comes from, though.

Jeez, I was pissed when they killed off Doyle. I was
just starting to get fond of the little Irish twerp. :)

It's nice to know they're not afraid of changing the status quo to the point
of killing off major characters though...

They'd never have done that on Star Trek unless they had no other choice...

The actor who played Doyle had a nasty habit of showing up late for shoots,
and often in a rather untidy state of inebriation. :/

I certainly preferred him over Wesley or whatever the english muffin's name
in show is.

I know they killed off Tasha Yar because she decided the show was crap and
not going to account for anything (she was stupid, wasn't she?)

Did they kill off Jadzia because the actress had been naughty?

Well, I wouldn't say that The Man in Black (as he is affectionately known)
was a total wuss :o)

But even he had the sense to spell it Westley.

There are those of us here who still think that TNG didn't amount to
anything.

Does demanding more money than they're willing to pay you (and, nominally,
more than you're worth) qualify? Terry decided she wanted to leave, and
made things impossible for the management types to change her mind.

All I can think of is Wes Craven and Wesley Snipes, but they're more or less
real.

That's no excuse. He was just getting into character.

Wesley is right. He's...overdone comic relief. I'm
dreading he and Cordy getting together again (I only
started watching the shows right near the end of the
last season that Buffy was a solo, when they
apparently couldn't keep their hands off each other).
:)

Hey, good point. I'd say for stuff like that, they'd
do most of the "serious drinking" in the editing
stage. It's hard to get an actor who's off their face
to follow stage directions. I'd say the same thing
goes for practically everything where you're doing
something that could cause the actor to lose control
(sex scenes in a non-porno, getting hurt, taking drugs
etc.). The actor does it to a small degree and then
the editors make it real.

I have been thinking about this; loads of Shadowrun sites have Star Wars
sections and during one run I had to take a second to tell him about an
enemy of his; I just had to say "you have a Sisko-Gul Ducat relatiuonship"
and he knew exactly what I ment.

For some reason I always picture all you guys having beards; are we all the
same or is there some variation between Shadowrun players?

I don't like the way I'd look in a moustache or beard. My dad
has tried it, and we look enough alike that I know what it would look
like. IMHO, it's just not a thing for Asians. I can't think of one
guy with facial hair in our entire gaming group, past and present.
It helps that most of the girls I know have an aversion to
facial hair. I don't blame them, as I don't like the scratchy feel of
it either when I forget to shave. (And I'm just resting my chin on my
hands!)
