I'm told that one of the effects of the Happy99.exe virus is that it causes
all your email to go out twice. So, if you are one of those people who is
sending out double posts, you might want to check for that virus. I'm not
sure of the particulars of the virus are, but I am rather sure it is a
Windows 95/98 specific virus, and that it does something to your .dll files
in your windows directory.

If recieving this email bothers all you non-Windows users out there, tough!
;)

As a techie who has this going around his office, I can tell you it
annoying. Not all of the virus checker pick it up. Dr Solomon needs an
extra.drv file added to find it, for example.

Do a search on your hard drive for ska*.* and delete all of the files that
it finds. Reboot the system in command mode and delete the wsock32.ddl file
from your c:\windows\system dir. Then rename wsock32.ska as wsock32.dll.

That should clean off your system completely. There's also another file
with a .ska extension that contains a list of everyone that you sent the
virus to so you can tell them that you infected them.

Hope this helps.

Still doesn't explain it for me. I've had several double posts and I'm
running e-mail off a UNIX box (aaaah, good 'ol PINE). Ugh, why would I
ever use anything else?
