You used to hang out with the Witch King, damn.(Interesting concept
though.)

But what this has brought to mind (and directed at a small number of you
I would guess) how many of you have considered using the Warhammer
background rather than the earthdawn, you have a small number of long
lived elves (Malekith being only younger than his mother and their is a
serious question about whether she's still an elf), and more interesting
than the mindlessness of the horrors, the seduction of Chaos. Hell
maybe the Emporer is wandering around right now, hiding his powers, and
leaving a trail of immortal children wherever he goes.
Now that I'm thinking about it I'll probly give it a go next time I GM.
(This came up when a friend of mine jokingly mentioned that I ought to
play Rhee, an old warhammer character of mine, discovered by the
atlantean foundation sitting in an old castle in the alps.)

Eek! I'm in more trouble than I thought. In actuality I grabbed the
name from his appearances in the Thor comic from the days under Walt
Simonson. As I suspected from his use, Malekith must be indeed taken
from an original mythological root, hence appearing in another source. I
just don't know from which source.
On the note of alternate histories, it can be a useful tool to keep
the players on their toes. I think White Wolf realized this when the
started a counterbelief in their Vampier:TM game of Vampires being
created by Lilith instaed of Cain.

Ancient cultures believed that names held great power, personal
names more so and they were guarded very closely. To protect themselves,
they answered to another name, because if another discovered their real
name, it could be used against them.
History repeats itself.
