Ummm... unless I'm seriously mistaken, the Karma spent on the spell lock or
quickening or whatever must be paid by the casting mage.

No, the mage who cast the spell must use karma to bind the spell on the recipient.

On the same boosting adepts vein, what would happen if a increase initative
dice spell was cast on a physical adept who already had extra initative dice ?
Should a blanket maximum of 4d6 apply or could the adept have 7d6 ?
(that's the adept with 4d6 and a +3d6 from the spell).

Would it be also be possible to bond spell locks to a weapon focus so they
would activate on use of the weapon focus. I can't see any really difficultly
in do so since the weapon focus does have a 'magic rating' itself. What's the
opinion out there ?
(yep, one of my player has been reading a rule book :-))

Again, you only get the best bonus. Different kinds of Reflex/Initiative
boosters are not compatable with each other, period.

Wouldn't this be an anchoring, not a spell lock?

The general rule set forth by DLOH (that's the Dark Lord On High, aka Tom
Dowd) is that any time enhancements to the same stat are mixed, only the
greater enhancement has an effect. (+1 die) + (+1 die) = +1 die, regardless
of whether they're magical, cyberware, bioware, or physad increases.

I find that to be somewhat questionable, but Grim2 _does_ contain rules on
making multipurpose foci, so the weapon focus could also be a spell lock,
which gives basically the same effect.
