Just read thru MitS. Love it. Very intirgued by the
changes to anchoring. The creator of an anchor takes
drain, for the spell effect, at the time of
activation. Not at the time of creation. So you only
check drain for the link and any trigger spells. When
someone sets it off, pow another drain check.

A player of mine made a bunch of healing anchors, to
use when casting huge spells. Now she could end up
worse than before she uses her Magus-Friendly
Quik-E-Heal Patch.

Also I guess this ends the party for Lone Star's
tactic of giving your troops anchored bullet
barriers/Increased reflexes/Spirit barriers. Can't
have your mages getting slamed for drain at inconvient
times. (Combat, Interrogations, Surveilence or
Mid-Ritual trackin of a Serial Killer.)

Awesome book.

Yeah, they are very intersting. They also don't have as many quirks as
the old anchors, another eample of the attention to "detail" in most of the
rules in MiTS.
The one thing you did not mention is that an acnchor is a kind of focus,
that must be enchanted and bonded as such. That does make thier rather
unique abilties and effects a bit easier to understand (and gives them a few
limitations, as well).

Maybe, but probaly not- if she controls when the anchor is used (as she
always can if in contact with it), she can make sure to have loots of dice
available for drain resitance. Well planned use of anchors can
signifigantly increase your spell's "punch".

Or they could just be careful to put the guy's whose anchors are being
used on duties where they can keep dice avaible for drain resistance. Yeah,
it could occasiopnally be a problem- so is loaning out one of your foci to
soembody who might get shot on the streets, though.

:Awesome book.

Indeed, glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. As another person
said, it is the best SR3 book so far published, and (imo) its better than
any SR2 book, in terms of clarity, conception, and usefulness.
