Ok try to follow me here. It won't be easy I'm blonde and have an
infant who has decided he doesn't need to sleep. If I read Dragons
correctly...

Alamaise the dragon claims Wyrm Wood and mates with his elven servants.
The children rebel and almost kill him. He goes down for his long
winter's nap, wakes up and tries to reclaim Wyrm Wood. The Queen says
no, he kills her and Alachia takes the throne.

Which made me wonder. What if this is where the immortal elves come
from? If that is true, then that would make some of them blood elves,
right?

Then I remembered that in the book Worlds Without End by Caroline
Spector, Aina shows her 'true form' to a clerk and she is allowed into
Tir Na Nog. The book doesn't say what that form was per se..

Am I completely off base here? Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Kismet

Oh yeah, here we go...gotta be as good as me (also blonde) who's been
suffering migraines complete with trips to the restroom in order to lose all
hope of food for the day...

I am going to hope this is in the ED stuff, because if it is, and you are
paraphrasing correctly...then boy have you given me the answers to the
questions...

I don't know, nor do I think so. I keep thinking that Ehran refers to
Alachia as "young" somewhere...

Hmmm...another interesting thought I hadn't considered...

Okay, but let me think about it a bit.

No, but it makes a damn good story. <g>
I will say this much- the origin of the Immortal Elves, I believe, will
explain much, if not all, of the animosity elves have for dragons, and vice
versa.

I don't remember the words "true form" being used, but it's been awhile
since I read the book. Caroline probably meant Aina's true magical form-
in other words, her astral self(all 5k plus years of it) with no masking of
aura going on. The clerk then probably realized she was an immortal elf,
and new it would be bad for his future if he turned her down. Just
speculating, though.
Immortal elves is immortal elves, however.

There was a novel on elves finding some dragon eggs and trying to destroy
them, wasn't there? The name escapes me right now, but this does explain a
lot. ;)

Ever lovable and always scrappy,

That would be "Never Trust an Elf." Pretty good book.

First, sorry for the answer to the old message, but I have been sick

That's exactly right. The 'immortal' elves owe their immortal existance
the cross-breeding with dragons. Some of the Shadowrun IE's are definately
blood elves, such as Alachia and Aithne Oakforest. Others such as
Harlequin and Aina never were blood elves.

They are not drakes or the like, and the only part of their dragon heritage
that 'shows through' is their immortality. More than likely she just
showed the guy some powerful magic trick, or some symbol that the IE's use,
or flashed her true identity to him.
