Heyo, fellow runners!

Just wanted to announce that the 1999 Magespace Short Story
Contest is officially underway. Check out:

http://www.magespace.net/stories/99ssc/99ssc.html

for rules, prizes, and whatnot. Hope to see a lot of
entries this year, just like last year! Deadline is
October 31, so sharpen up those keyboards. :)

Thanks,
--Rat

Jeez, Rat, you aren't giving much notice.

Well, unless my schedule clears up a bit, I'm afraid I might have to
pass this year. For the first time ever.

Alas.

It's a month and a half...how long do you need? (Okay,
so it's about 2 weeks less than last year, but the max
word count is cut in half too!)

If I get enough complaints, I might consider extending
the deadline by a couple of weeks...never let it be
said that I'm not accommodating. :)

How long do I need? Well, the next week and a bit is out because of my
brother's wedding. And then...

Hmmm, all right. I might be able to get one done. Now I just need to
see if I get any inspiration.

Dammit, Rat, I had SUCH a cool idea for this years one. And then you go
and pull something like this one me! From the POV of an ordinary joe
indeed!

Feel free to withdraw from competition again. No really, I'm
concerned for you...you relax, take it easy, and don't enter the
contest. Really. Please.

Ah, well... Maybe you can save your cool idea for next year's
contest. (Or how 'bout writing it anyway and letting us read
it? Just cuz it won't win a *prize*...)

(I wish somebody *else* would run a story contest so *I*
could enter it...)

Ah, it's called motivation. :) Without the motivation of winning a
prize, I have other things that take priority atm.

I would, but I don't think people would enter a contest with no prize
and in which they don't even get exposure if they win, as I don't have
a webpage. :)
