Don't worry it's not like the last one.

About a couple years ago, one of my previous players was flipping through
the SR Comp and notices that all the meta-variants were from different
countries. He decided to make an American (UCAS/CAS) troll variant called
Mutt. I don't have the specifics but it was a little shorter more
human-looking (+1 charisma over usual, -1 strength less then usual, no bone
deposits).

Any thoughts?

yup I've got a thought....I've been looking for the info on the variant
races for a while...is there any way you could do a little S&S (scan & send)
job on that info for me so I can actually put it to use? I remember using
the Oni and the Cyclops when I was playing with my old GM a couple years
back but I couldn't remember what book it was all in and now that you tell
me I realize that I can't get it around here (since it's out of print and
all). Any help would be appreciated.

The races are in the SR Comp, all three versions (2nd, 3rd, wizkids).
For the Mutt stats, use the standard Troll statisics with the above
modifiers
(an extra charisma, less strength and no dermal armor)

The modifiers sound fair enough to me - pretty balanced and all. OTOH, you
could almost just do this with a normal Troll who put more Attribute points
into Charisma than Body and who was below average height... What is the
unique and/or special quality that defines the Mutt against conventional
Trolls?

FanPro has (apparently) released a new printing of the SR Companion. I've
not yet seen it over here, though.

FanPro released stuff already? I haven't seen anything at all since I had to
cuss, complain, and be outright obnoxious to get the local store to try
every place they knew of to order my copy of the CC (they were telling me
that there was no such book so I printed it off of the FASA site and handed
that to em and told em to find it.....worked though)

Err, yes. Year of the Comet, and reprintings of New Seattle and the
Shadowrun Companion (Revised for Third Edition).

http://www.shadowrunrpg.com has all the info. :-)
