Back with another question. I am sure you covered this before but are
Physical Barrier spells gas permable?

Hmm, i don't remember ever seeing that question before.

I'm not sure, the rules lawyer in me would say no, while the Bastard GM
says yes.

Gas is a physical entity...

*shrug*

If it is not gas permiable then a mage could only run it for a limited time.
We always figured that we could finish off a mage with something as simple
as tear gas or poison gas. Need less to say, neither our GM or the party
bothers with physical barriers for protection any more in heavy combat.

If it is not gas permiable, how long can it remain up? I realize that this
is am evil question, but I have to ask. If the barrier is not gas permiable
then it is the perfect protection from a fire. The smoke can not touch you.
Nor the heat of the air--unless the barrier conducts heat and that opens a
whole new can of worms (see I got these burns from touching a physical
barrier that was touching this bonfire...)

My opinion:
P158 in the big black book.

"Anything the size of a molecule (or less) can pass the barrier,
including air and other gases. "

Sucks to be mages with smart gas granade throwin Sam's are around.

Ok, this question was tossed at me during a SR game I ran tonite...

A player is interested in trying to become a good enough Football (american)
player to try out for the Seattle Seahawks...

I want to know what skills (other than Athletics) you would come up with to
be a good Quaterback, worthy of playing for a Pro Football Team...

I was thinking:

Leadership (Team Sports), Tactics (Football), Throwing, Running, and maybe a
few others...

What do you guys think... Just lumpintg it all under Athletics,
specializing in Football seems kind of a cheesy way out... I'd like to make
it somewhat difficult for this player, karma wise...

BTW, his character did play High School, and a little bit of College
football in his Background, so this isn't too far fetched...

Oh, and for those of you who have read some of Stackpole's Wolf and Raven
stories, one of the reasons he's doing this is because Valerie Valkyrie
dates mostly guys like Football players...:):):)

What about Dirty Tricks, there's gotta be dirty tricks in a cyberenhanced
league. Else i could think of a Dodge skill maybe, he should be good at that
if he is a top runner.;)

Just what i wanted to say.

I'd remove the Tactics skill and replace it by a special skill called
Sports or Field Sports, with a concentration in American football
(specializations in specific moves or whatever they're called). Also note
that Running is a concentration of Athletics.

Well, it probably depends on what position he's planning to try out for.
If he wants to try out for quarterback, he'll need tactics, leadership,
throwing, maybe running. If he's just planning to be a linebacker,
however, all he'll really need is lots of body and strength (hmmm, I
wonder if there's an athletics(shoving)). Wide receivers would require
running, dodging, catching, etc. It really all depends on what he wants
to do, football teams are really pretty diverse.

Well, my sometimes character LeRoy is an ex-football player (bought some
star status a la Shadowbeat) and he has a skill in playbook.
