Last GenCon we ran a Shadowrun Tournament about 100 people played and in the
end there was a winning team. The winners had their picture taken at our
booth but no one wrote down their names. If you won this tournament or know
who did please e-mail directly (again let's not take up valuable mailing list
space). I would need your name and the character you played (name/race etc.).
Please feel free to post this on other services/mailing list or the internet.

Thanks -

How do you win a Shadowrun tournament? Do you have to kill and maim
everyone else's characters or something along the same lines?

That's not roleplaying....
That's munchkining...

I think people in tournaments are judged on staying in character,
role-playing, and doind their jobs....

Not that I've ever been in a tournament....

And that is TSR....

It is also about how your -team- does its job..and how you work
together...I cannot vouch for how things were run this year..But I do
know some of the guys that were there and if your -team- worked well
and you all roleplayed well together...Then you
progressed..Unfortuately sometimes good roleplayers end up lumped in
with those who "just entered because it sounded neato"...but I do
know that a couple of years ago when I was able to be one of the FASA
judges..The team that won truely deserved to win...They were an
awsome group of gamers...And as far as I know they had never gamed
together previously...but there was lots of talent in that
group....So if you didn't progress...Don't let that turn you off to
the idea of trying to win this year...if at first you don't
suceed...kill all of your oponents....Er..uh..Try..try ..again... :)

WEll..it's about time you were...Get out there and get
started....Actually my favorite part of it is GMing... I am sure you
know that UK has their own version of GenCon...GO THERE!

Yes, there are conventions.... EuroGencon is one, and there are others....
I've never heard of a shadowrun LRP though....
