I finally got the my SR3 softback on Saturday and read it yesterday and today.

I needed some clarification on spell use.

When casting the spell the Force is simply the target number used to resist
the spell. You no longer use dice from the Force though. You only use dice
from Sorcery, and the Spell Pool? Is that right?

Also, and this may already have been mentioned, but they do still have
Expendable Fetish Foci.

PS - I have to say that there is more stuff in the SR3 that I like then what I
dislike. :)

That's what the excelently detailed spellcasting procedure says, yes.
You also can't cast with more pool dice than sorcery dice, and "should" save
some sorcery dice for defense. This "skill splitting" is odd at first, but
seems to work very well, and isn't actually a major change, since "sorcery"
used to effect spellcasting only through the pool it granted.

Right, just expendable fetishes were removed, not the actual expendable
foci. I think the foci are slightly diffrent in effect, so read those before
using.
