Actually, I love the archetypes. SR has been the easiest game I've played
to slip a new player into the game. Any other game I've played, it takes
half a session to get a new player started. With SR, I can just ask a few
questions about what type of character they want, hand them the book and a
character sheet and off we go.
Yeah, I would never play an straight Archetype these days if I could avoid
it, but for players new to the game it's a great solution.
