Ouch. Well, with one gross error down, I decided to ask a new
question:

Since it seems something can be tossed down my Quickening (though
I probably still won't play that way, it may come up at a
convention): Can I suppress/turn off a Quickening?

Oh, by the way:

A 2.2 kg Lexan projectile fired at 3.4 kps completely obliterated
the 30cm thick, half meter on a side, steel plate it was fired at.

Real railgun, real test results.

Currently, a good railgun is powered off of a 100 kg device (some
kind of strange generator, I don't recall), but they (research types)
will have it down to 10 kg (that's 22 pounds) soon.
