Just a quick question. Does anyone have any rules about shooting to
reduce the armour a target uses to resist? (Like shooting someone in the
face....) There aren't any rules to this, that I can find, So any ideas?
We sometimes Call shots to the head to Count Half armour, but that has
it's ups and downs....Comments and Questions Welcome.

We use the called shot for a head shot. To aim at a particular part of the
head, ie. forhead, raises the target +2. To pick an eye would go to +6.
Weapons with a spread don't get the bonus, ie shotguns, flechette rounds.
With the pin-pointing of the shots, we use the visibility modifiers. The
increase in damage is staged up only once, but the victim is down to a body
test without the benifit of orthoskin/dermal armour, only a protective eye
cover. The target gets higher if the shooter cannot see clearly the eye.

This is easy enough to handle with called shots: if a player wants to
shoot someone in an unarmored body part, apply the +4 Called Shot
modifier, and if it hits, the target gets no armor. BUT don't apply the +1
Damage Level in such a case. The result of this is a more difficult shot
for the player to make, that is also more difficult to resist for the
target.

Naturally, there is nothing to stop a player from loading flechette ammo
into a Remington 950 rifle with a Smartlink II, and then performing a
called shot to the head => TN 4 (if all's clear) and 9D damage without
armor...

Hmmm you could use a called shot system. adding mods. of say +1 to +
many.
I have a house rule on bodypart hits and hit locations, which I think
works rather well, but has to be told to players before they buy their
armors [I end up with armor ratings per body part, a necessary evil of
this system]
If anyone is interested, and i have the time, I'll post it.

We sort of wing it with called shots. Depends on what the target's
wearing, you can halve or eliminate armour. Like, he's just got an
armour vest, a called shot can eliminate his armour (head shot, say): if
he's wearing a helmet or some sort of head protector (we have some in
our game that are very discreet, and also much favoured by NPCs :) ) the
best you can do is halve it.

But yeah, halving armour on a called shot is usually OK by us. Makes
guys in mil-spec less cocky, whether PCs or NPCs (yes, bad guys have
Smartlink IIs and the wit to use them too...)

The thing'll be some pages, so I'll only send it to private mail, send me an
email adress and I'll send it. avoids my getting lynched by other list members
for postings exceeding 40K
that goes for all others who asked me for the rules, btw. I'll send it sometime
next week.
