All this talk about Arrows of Red Dragon Slaying (sounds very like a
AD%D thingie) makes me realize that I haven't got the faintest clue
what kinda background info the guys from FASA put in their novels but
not in the source books.
I tend to go only for the source books and related stuff and forget
about the adventures and novels. Now that I bought BitB <sheepish
grin> no source books available and I had to buy something SR-ish
</sheepish grin> I noticed tons of stuff in there that IMHO belongs
in a source book. From the top of my head Corp 2 would be nice.

So two questions:
Is there more stuff out there that's hovering between adventure and
source book? And does somebody have a website or something with
all the spoilers for the novels (I'm probably never going to read
them anyway)?

BTW am I the only one who feels that the extra rules are
getting a bit split up into tiny bits thrown in as extras at the end
of a book? It's a hell to find some of the stuff back, and I for one
would be quite happy to wait a few months to get a compilation of
them in a new companion or something like that..

Ah the old days when you just had to worry about the rules in the Big
<insert favourite colour here> Book....

And Gurth, yes I'm back, with some mayor hiccups (lasting about a
month or so) I finally am back to stay for a while (barring any big
computeral disasters).

Thanks for any hints/help/whatever,

It depends... Most of the older novels are not related to any big
timelines, but things like Just Compensation, Worlds Without
End, or the Dragonheart trilogy (which I haven't read) do have
info that is really handy to know if you're a GM wanting a good
picture of the world.

BitB and Mob War! are sourcebooks, as far as I'm concerned.

Super Tuesday!, IMHO. Okay, it has a number of real adventures
(as opposed to the BitB system), but there are Shadowland
articles between the adventures. Another bad idea, IMHO,
because to let the players read them (if they do some research
and the GM decides they dig them up) you need to photocopy
them.

Not me, I'm afraid.

I second that... To give a recent example, it's very weird to have
the rules for flight ceilings and T-bird take-offs in Target:
Smuggler Havens when they could IMnsHO have easily fitted into
Rigger 2, had some of the art or short stories (which is another
thing I never understand why they're there) been left out or
reduced in size...

I thought you'd dropped off the face of the earth again after that
first message to the list last month...

Somehow Gurth, I can imagine that Jon probably feels the same. And yes, I
feel like the blurring of adventures/sourcebooks is a bit annoying, BUT, I
have not been involved in that many "Canon" adventures to begin with.

DNA/DOA
Bottle Demon
Universal Brotherhood (took a while)
Ivy & Chrome (Rob Nesius should remember -that- one)
Harlequin (First One Only)
Imago

That's it for me. We've used pieces and kibblers from some of the others, but
not much else.

Let's get clear I'm not blaming this on Jon Szeto, but whoever is
responsible for these things at FASA (their editing department,
maybe? I don't know) should really pay a bit more attention, I
think. Unless it's a deliberate marketing ploy to get us to buy
multiple books to have all the rules...

And I'm sorry if you misinterpreted what I meant. I was merely saying that I
believe that Jon Szeto probably feels at least as frustrated as you do. I
think I would after the work the guys' put forward and only to have it "put on
hold" for other material that is being "prioritized" as such.
