Just a couple of Questions concerning Assault
Rifles in shadowrun 3.

1) Do you need separate skills to use both the rifle
and grenade portions of an Assault Rifle?

e.g.
Assault Rifle (Direct Fire)
Assault Rifle (Indirect Fire)

2) Is the skill used with the Grenade Launcher on the
Assault Rifle different than that used with a
stand alone grenade launcher?

Assault Rifle (Indirect Fire)
Grenade Launcher (Indirect Fire)

Thank you,
Richard Swen

As always, all comments are greatly appreciated.

Yes. 'Assault Rifles' to fire the gun,
'Launch Weapons' to fire the grenade launcher.
You can default however when using an underbarrel
grenade launcher. SR3 p.86 under Launch Weapons
skill explains this.

No. They both use Launch Weapons skill,
unless the grenade launcher is vehicular
mounted then you use Gunnery skill, or if
it is larger than an assault rifle and mounted
on a tripod, pintle or gyromount you use
Heavy Weapons skill.

Hope that helps.
