I would hardly consider any steps to prevent such combination to be
Munchkin. Rather, I would think that they would prevent such abuses.

We had a chap who put in a smartlink with optical-mag 3 in his eyes, so that he
had targets of 2 all the way out to extreme for the weapon of his choice.
THAT's Munchkin.

Doom WOULD like character background. We got him to do background for his
decker-god, and now he'd play him if he were 90 with a karma pool of 400+.
He won't leave him alone!!1 In another context, this could be really bad. . .

Plus ludicrous, ridiculous, arrogant, uninformed, and just plain silly.
If SRII supported any such system for mass-combat, I would invite her to be
instructed by experience.

Well, there IS the small fact that light travels much faster than sound, and
someone's much more likely to see the muzzle flash than hear the shot first,
to determine the direction of the shot. As such, it is not unlikely for the
sniper to have felled all intended targets and be moving on before any action
can be taken against his position, if he prepares with a flash suppressor.

Also, without paying undue attention to realistic detail, most silencers act
as a muzzle brake to some extent, whether designed to drop the round to
subsonic velocities, or to disperse the muzzle exhaust. This changes the
physics (and more importantly: the range) of the projectiles. If you're
going to use a silencer, practice with it extensively!
