There's been a lot of posting on this, and some things seem to be
implied that no one's commenting on.

1) Killing hands are active in astral space and can hit a magician
who manifests to the physical plane regardless of the Adepts astral status.

Many objections to this are based on 'the hands must have an astral
presence to affect the mage. And that It is unfair to allow this aspect,
unless you can 'ground' a spell through his hands.'

What I have at issue here is:
You can't ground a spell through someone's hands, because it's exactly
the same thing as grounding a spell through their entire body.
Game mechanics make no distinction.

So, If you create a rule on Grounding through killing hands, how does one
determine the rating of the 'focus' you're grounding the spell through,
the Adepts astral body, his astral strength, his body, his strength, or
his level of killing hands?

2) Who can attack the manifesting magician?
This is implied at in two books I'll refer you to,

Secrets of Power, 3 (sam's astral trip to see his sister far north)
- Sister, a wendigo (dual natured?) threatens to swat him.

Burning Bright, from Tom Dowd, the impetus behind the system:
- Kyle astrally projects, and manifests to talk to someone. They see him
as his idealized, naked, self image. in Chapter 10+
- Kyle searches for an area he previously identified through a ritual
sorcery spell. He lands in a garbage can to avoid being 'jostled' by the
passerby.
- Kyle tries to find several Insect Spirit nests, but cannot navigate
well, or read street signs (despite his knowing how to manifest), since
he is unfamiliar with the 'Cago area, So he takes his ally spirit with him.
The ally spirit, can manifest with a physical form, and can therefore see
the street signs. two chapters before '...containment zone...'???

Implications of the above:

Dual natured and active beings can attack a manifesting being, since the
manifestation is really an 'illusion' that isn't really there, and the
manifesting mage is still percieving in the astral (can't read street signs)
The mage suffers no TN modifiers since their attentions are fully astral.

Remember that Dual natured beings are always astrally present, and some
can astrally project.

So, a Killing hands attack would move the manifesting magician out of the
way, but would DO NO harm(see the garbage can), since they are
considered to be a mundane unless using astral perception in this
case, or the gateway power of free spirits. This makes logical sense,
since a manifesting magician cannot cast a spell at the physical adept
unless the adept is in astral perception, or using Gateway.

Makes sense?

very few but magically active (shaman/mage) lesser dragons fit this
catergory.
