what I'm trying to get at is, are PhysAd powers, especially those that act
over time or space/distance, represented in Astral Space. Is Distance
Strike like a magical bolt of some sort that travels from a PhysAd's self
through astral to the target? Is it like a manipulation and any barriers in
the way block it? What about other abilities?

A question, what if a physical adept put the Distance Strike power onto
themselves alone? Imagine doing normal unarmed combat damage from a
distance.

Thats how the power is intended to be- where's the problem?
You don't have to take killing hands as well...

Ok right I can answer this question. If you read the
description of delay damage it says that the power leaves
an astral mark on the target. If a mage assenses this he
can remove the mark before it kills it target.

So working with the same assumption for distance strike I
would assume that it travels through the astral in a
similar way to a spell. First a link is formed and then the
blow is channeled through the link. I guess that mana
barriers would also count against distance strike.

And as a little a-side if the mechanics work this way it
explains why you have to pay double for killing hands. As
extra time and effort and magical ability is need to
intertwine to different and succinct magical abilities.

It must be warned that these are my ideas as a GM and not a
player.

Distance strike damageis resolved like any other unarmed combat damage-
a mana barrier, a wall, or just impact armor, providesits normal
protection. What seemsto be at issue is iff it is a visibl effect in
astral space and if it interacts with astral only entities. I would
say it is avisible effectonthe astral plane, but can not be intercepted
like aspell or (in and ofitself) used to affect astral targets. Most
adept and critter powers are visible as effects in astral space but can
not be specifically intercepted like a spell. A spell is a seperate
entity fromthemage- a critter or adept power is just an extension of
thier normal (para)biological function, and is visible from astral space
but does not specifically interact with that plain.

Thats the standard way its used. You have to pay double to add the
killing hands effect, but you can use it for normal unarmed damage just
fine, with no more cost. If your happy with base STR(m) stun, don't
waste the extra points. Killing hands (or astral perception) would be
nice for targeting spirits, though- normal unarmed won't do that, even
with distance strike.
