:I believe they're also called "shanks" and probably
:have myriad other names, depending on where in the
:world you find it (sticking out of you).

shiv, shank, pigsticker, tool, protection, silencer, iron. Basically, they
take two forms- "ice pick" style, and "dagger" style. Few are made
for
cutting.
Loompanics sells a book on prison weapons, but I'm basing my info on the
book "Concrete Mama", a photo essay on Washington State's Walla Walla
Penitentiary, and some good prison autobiographies ("Monster" and "In the
Belly of the Beast").
The terms above are probably out of date now; I bet by 2060, they would
be
totally different. OTOH, it might be impossible to make any thing like a
knife- I can see all the furniture being soft plastic, and the prisoners
being employed answering customer assistance hotlines. Heck, that's a
logical extension of the "supermax" prison (easy to do in SR) and today's
"prison for profit" concepts.

While my SR3 is sitting at home, I believe it's 1 skill point
per point of skill up to the linked attribute, and 2 per point
up to the maximum of 6. But if I'm wrong, someone will correct
me. :^)
