Would it help if I told you we were the ones responsible for the queue in
the first place? :)

Responsible for the queue? I take it you mean that you guys decided to
rearrange the usual amorphous crowding of booths at a Con to an orderly
queue at the FASA booth? Or do you mean you caused the delivery delay? ;-)

Well, I had (as I recall) either #743 or #775. Unfortunately, it was
stolen out of my car last week. Alas! Kidnapped BABY!
Ah well.

Oh MAN! You are kidding?!? You know that the only kind of person who stole
that book is a SR player (your group is guilty, get 'em all ;), or (if you
leave near a campus), someone who steals textbooks to sell 'em back for money
(Purdue has had this problem for years) and they thought that is what it was.

Well, it was in my backpack (along with every other SR book I owned -
we'd played the day before). I think they broke into the car, grabbed the bag,
and ran, and didn't look in it until later. I'm guessing it all ended up
in a dumpster somewhere :( There aren't any stores nearby that buy used
gaming books, so unless they were gamers, it all would have been pretty useless
to them.

That sucks, I have to say...

You could look around for a group of Shadowrun players in the area, and
ask how long they've been playing ;)

It went like this: as you say, it was a total mess, everybody waiting
wherever they happened to be standing. For us, that happened to be roughly
two meters away from the center of FASA's booth. Keith then had the
brilliant idea to ask Rett (from FASA) if there was a queue where we were
supposed to wait, and the reply was in the order of "Hey yeah, a queue
would be a good idea, what with all these people and all... Okay
everybody, form a queue along that wall!"

Ah ha. That explains it. Spontaneous order at a Con, especially at Gencon,
is rather unexpected.

<boast mode>
Oh, and along the lines of a recent discussion, I was out at the local
Cancon this weekend where I picked up second hand copies (in great
condition) of The Universal Brotherhood, Double Exposure and Queen
Euphoria. :))

For what it's worth, my BABY is #25.

And, yes, Jill Lucas does have BABY #666 "just in case." (in case of what, I
don't know).

Maybe FASA has read data from the Aztech calender that they are not
sharing with us, and Jill is keeping that one as an edge in the coming
upheaval...

Mike B. and I have heard a story that it (Jill claiming #666) involved the
release of one of the ED products some time ago. No real recollection of the
details however.
