Well Chummers, I've been away from my e-mail for quite a while now,
and have thought up lots of questions over the time...

First. I've never been to into riggers, and so the other day I was
boning up on the rules in the SRII and the RBB. I found how to
shoot at vehicles with a character, and how to shoot at vehicles with
other vehicles, but I could NOT find anything about hitting people
through vehicle's weapons while rigged ie. drones. Any comments??

Second. I just thought of this one. What happened to the good ole
Post Office. Does it still exist. I've never read anywhere about
anyone ever checking their mail box. Que Pasa Aqui??? What about
that??

And third. I heard a rummer that "they" were making a movie about
ShadowRun. Is it true??

Well, that's all I could ponder for a while so...

If I remember correctly, somebody asked DLoH about this and the reply was
that the rights had been sold to Disney (which is good, as Disney also
has Muppet Labs).

doesn't it say in FoF that vehicle weapons can shoot at people using an
effective sugnature of 8?

Email man. In Elven fire, the cop hiring the runners leaves info for them in
an electronic mailbox.

How about PG&E? How about plain old phone bills? Ever heard of a
Shadowrunner that went home because he had to pay his bills? Most
shadowruners I know work to get =Y= for new toys of destruction. I don't
know how long it's been since I checked the food in my fridge......

That would be nice. As long as it's realistic and character based. No
more stupid cops and guns with infinite ammo loads. Let's watch the main
character die for a change. I hope it's nothing like "Demolition Man".
(Pet peeve alert).

Isn't that what Lifestyle costs are for??

Real Programmers never work 9 to 5. If any real programmers are around at 9 am,
it's because they were up all night.

Well, from what I understand about shooting at targets while rigged, the
rigger uses a gunnery skill. Also there shood be a TN# modifier chart
somewhere in the books for how to change the TN. If there isn't, use the
normal chart.

Personaly, I don't think the post office exists anymore. From what I can
understand, everyone who matters has one of the telecom units. I think
these units act as telephone/computer, and therefore probably come with
some sort of e-mail.
Haven't heard about a Shadowrun movie, but I am pretty cloistered with
grad school and all.

A note on my previous post where I said email would replace the trusty
postal survice:

In the lone star sourcebook, which I was reading after I posted before, I
have found two (so far) examples that indicate the real postal service still
exists. In the section on crime scene (murder scene to be precise)
investigation, it is SOP to check for letters and mail with dates to help
determine the time of death. Also a bit later on some decker posts some
juicy info and syas if anyone wishes to re-imberse him for his troubles,
then real mail a certified credstick to some post office box.

Finally, someone who agrees> Thanks for the breath of fresh air, Rob.
In a related topic, though, a friend of mine wrote in and suggested to
FASA that they do a Shadowrun comic. Not one of these wussy super-hero
comics fraught with coming back from the dead, dimensional rifts, and
other stupid shit. I'm talking some serious 'Punk genre stuff fraught
with pain, suffering, difficulty, and death, the way Shadowrun IS. I
think it would be a good seller just 'cause it would be so different.
FASA obviously didn't think so, 'cause they totally blew the idea off.

Say it ain't so!! First Nintendo, now Disney; I think some FASA execs
need some additions to their brains (the small, high-velocity, cylindrical
kind) :>
Was there any talk about whether it was going to be in the Dark
Crystal style or the Politically Correct, dancing-cartoon-animal, musical
style? Just when I've started to get really sick of Disney, my favourite
game is given over to it. Ah, well. There goes the violence... and the
sex.... and the racism... and the conflict. I can't wait to see elven
mages running around with gossamer wings, pointed hats and magic wands
with the star on the end. Gee, maybe they'll insult baseball like they did
hockey and come up with the Anaheim Trolls :)
