I have a slight problem with the extended background checks that are done,
'on site' by a LoneStar/Knight Errant crusier. Doing an extended check
would still require that samples of DNA/etc be taken, so if all the cars
(or whatever) are equiped with such equipment then you might as well add in
the hardware for a matrix link to do the entire search. Any of the checks
would require some sort of link to the Star's main database of such files,
so the testing equipment would, IMOHO, be the only difference in the
checks. (besides the amount of time needed to run the check) Just my 2
cents ;-)

According to the Lone Star sourcebook, each car is equipped with a
dedicated Matric link to headquarters. It also goes into detail about how
a decker should not be allowed to deck in through the cruiser and what
steps a GM an take to prevent it.

Now tell me, what was your problem?
