Whether a FASA books falls apart or not must have something to do with
humidity and heat. I live in Denver Colorado (dry and cool) and have never
had a problem with the bindings on *any* of my shadowrun books (and I have
quite a collection).

Only time pages came out of a FASA book of mine was the SR1 softcover, when I
bent back the spine to get the book to lay flat. From then on the lower half
of the pages were seperated and threatened to pull loose the tops. <sigh>

But then there was the accursed binding on Wolf Pack!!! I bought the ROC
novel in a Barnes & Noble, and the first hundred pages spontaneously fell out
when I read the first page. <shudder> If other are experiencing the same,
you have my sympathy. It was hellish. Hell, go with the Kinkos spiral
binding and get a nice flat book out of the deal!

Humm, I guess FASA just sends the bad books to my stores. I have had T$R books of
all kinds, MERPS, and lots of other systems since about 86 and they are all in good
condition today. My FASA stuff looks like they used two drops of elmers glue and a
lot of wishing to bind them, starting with Rigger Black Book I have had the same
luck with the bindings. The 4th time I opened the damn SR3 core book the whole cover
fell off, for 30 dollars that's criminal. You people that have multiple copies of
the same book must either not mind spending double the cash for the same material or
you take data redundancy to a new level.
Yes I e-mailed FASA about it and they told me to send the book back and they would
send me a new one. Now I am not about to pay SH for sending it and getting it back
for it do fall apart again. I broke my Earthdawn book down and it cost about $40 but
I will prob have to do it to my SR3 book too. As far as how I take care of my books,
I collect rare 1st edition books and I have a rather large collection of novels of
all kind of bindings. I take better care of my books than I do most anything else.
My copies of old 95 cent novels have withstood the test of time a lot better than
the $20-30 books by FASA. As much as I care for my books it really pisses me off to
have to tear one down to make sure I don't loose the pages.

I would pay the extra $5 for a well binded book any day.

True. However, I live in Regina, Saskatchewan which is about as dry as you
can get without being a desert and my SR3 book still lost it's cover.
However, that's only happened to 1-2 other RPG books so I'm not doing too
bad. :)
