This came up last night and I don't have my books with me. If I'm astral outsi
de a building and an apt. has a ward but the curtains of the window are parted,
can I see into the apt. (past or thru the ward)?. Just wondering....

Argh! Not again! :)

If you toe the FASA line, if the ward itself does not block vision, then
yes, you can see through the windows because you can normally see
through the windows.

If you ignore FASA's bit of hackery, you can't see through windows
anyway because they're man-made, non-living materials and thus opaque in
astral space.

If you're planning on casting a spell into the apartment you still have
to overcome the ward.

Uh, nope. The ward is blocking astral perception, which is _very_
different from normal perception. What you would see with normal sight
doesn't relate.

Blessings,

I agree, a barrier has a definite astral presence and that means
(the way I understand it) that you cant see through it. Someone mentioned
that there is a FASA rule stating the opposite, can you please give
us a reference for that?

I play barriers in the Astral as being "a crackling wall of energy", just
as in the Physical realm, and with the same mods on perception... (+1 per
Force?? Can't remember)
