Does anyone know what the limits of tactical networks are? Particularly
with thinks like various pieces of headware. (Cameras with audio link up,
onboard navigation systems, tactical computers, etc.)

Good question...I'm supposing you mean how many 'peripherals' can actually be
connected, yes?

Well, more along the lines of, can cybereye cams be linked to a tactical
theatre network via cybernetic communications systems, along with inertial
nav/GPS and cybercompass data, tactical computer information and so on, and
can data be dowloaded and displayed via display link and/or encephelon
through the same system.
Basically, if everyone carries eyecam and enhanced hearing, along with
things like rangefinders, internal nav, etc, along with a good, encrypted
comlink, can they link thier tac data. "What one sees, all know." Even go
so far as to use it to blind fire weapons and use imaging, compass bearing
and ragefinding from the spotter and inertial nav from a known firing point
to guide optically tracked missiles and mortar bombs with pinpoint precision.
It's for the supertrooper concept that Matadors speaks of in FoF. My idea
is to use a pissload of Beta and Delta grade cyber, cultured bioware (no
cyberzombies, thank you), cutting edge armour and weapons, and show why
some corporations don't have to ask nicely.
3 Nuke Knights vs 6 runners. My money is on the NKs.

So my comment about "Peripherals" was a correct guess then.. ;-P

I would agree with you. Perhaps when Man & Machine comes out, some of this
will be cleared up as I noticed that Tactical Computers are not in the SR3
book, which hopefully means they'll be in M&M's advanced/expanded cyberware
section.
