Generally Gurth is quite right, one on one goes to the organised guy
with an ambush set up.
To be ohnest nothing much except BIG horrors can withstand a large
manabolt with karma behind it without access to shielding or lots of
cover/lighting modifiers.
Barret rounds are even more sure.

At VERY high power levels magic does start to win, but even my
favourite character, Mist (who is more than prepared to take on
whatever you feel like putting in the way, ok he is not going to do
silly things, and is a 'nice' guy so isn't going to kill folks if he
can help it (well unless they try to kill him or his friends)
This guy has been hanging about as the 'GM's character NPC' for a
long time and thanks to a formula i use for calculating his karma
total is now over 900. The One PC he would have reason to be scared
of is built on about 70 and about 6 million yen, however hard i try
without tooling the rules i have no answer to 24+4D6 and APDS (yes
that initative is correct, SR2 totally legal, and was not aquired
through munchkinism!)
And this guy is noted for one escapade the players managed to set up
where lonestar bounced a party of 'runner hanger on's etc (the real
runners mostly did a quick fade, saves on the dead cops on your
record)'. Only the second time i really let him loose and he tin
opened a mobmaster (despite four initiates all shielding it at once),
i have one PC realy wondering how i did that :).

Yes i suspect he'd be happy to join in the fun with the crowd
investigating what Jak is writing about, but i wouldn't consider him
cannon fodder unless the NPC's are immortal/dragon etc.

No i haven't got stats typed in, a character 'folder' about 12 pages
thick puts me off and that only covers a fraction of it :), i have to
remmber most of it.
