Ok I just finished reading black Madonna and would some one please tell
me what Kristen was suppose to be? I can't tell if she just some one
with an interesting face, the descendent of Isis, a free spirit or
several other possibilitys that I would no doubt be able to grasp if I
actually had more then a passing knowledge of the Earthdawn game.

You mean the lady with the characters married to Serrin don't you (i
think thats the right person). If so shes exactly what she appears to
be as far as i know, she was rescued from somewhere in South Africa
by the group of friends in a previous novel.

> I can't tell if she just some one with an interesting face,
Well shes a lot more streetwise than Serrin.

> the descendent of Isis,
On the subject of Isis, does anyopne know anything about this.
'Leo' calls Isis a passion, no reason to disbelieve him.
There are 12 passions in the ED main book, non called Isis.
The Humans section of ED denzines 1 refers to belief there is a
thirteenth passion, but says its Death.
In SR term a passion is a type of what Harlequin (in HB) calls 'great
powers' basically as hard as totems but somewhat different. Passions
are mentioned directly in Tir Taingire (i think). to which Harlequin
replys 'your a dead man i'll send flowers'

> a free spirit or
Anyone virtually could be, with 'human' from and masking these can
impersonate nearly anything.

Both BM and House of the Sun have implied that some folks may be
reincarnated from the ancient past. Harlequin believes he may have fought
alongside Dirk Montgomery ages ago. But it's not a 100% thing, more of a
feeling those sprokkin' immortal elves get.

Someone with an interesting face, I'd say. I'm guessing the whole thing
with her, Michael and whatshisface occured in another book that they
appeared in, since I do believe that there's a couple others out there by
those authors with those characters (though I haven't read them).

Given that for the purposes of immortal elves ED is SR's past
Harlequin and co have every reason to believe this as it can be done
in ED.

I'm not sure exactly how it works as a powerful NPC did the deed but
in ED i have seen a bag of bones turned back into a perfectly healthy
ef 400 years or so after he died, in game! The ability is i think a
high circle wizard spell but might be tied up with light bearers in
some way. I'm pretty sure its in the ED companion but i've not read
that.

If I remember correctly, Kristen is an elf on the ways and paths who has
failed in her past life in some way. She and Serrin met in South Africa and
were involved in a past life or something to that effect.

Kristen and Serrin met in the novel Nosferatu, which had to do with
elven machinations, undead plots, and lots of really involved
world-spanning conspiracy gimmicks... pretty good, though a bit
overwritten. Kristen is a street girl from Cape Town in Azania. She was
Serrin Shamandar's true love in a past life, but their love was
forbidden. Also making an appearance is the legendary decker Michael
Sutherland (of Prime Runners fame) who, for involved plot reasons,
briefly marries Kristen. (Sorry if I gave anything away)
