I looked this up and you know what, blind mages can still assense astrally.
I quote :

So she can probably use her LOS-spells as well.
in astral space ... Inanimate objects are visible because of reflected light, and block
the passage of magical energy and emotions ...
So now you can not only see the light, but feel it as well!
So I was WRONG, Sorry.
But now I was wondering: why is it so obvious she is using spells, she is a grade 3
initiate after all.
Is it because she is also using a mindlink spell and that link can't be hidden?
Or can aura masking NOT be used to hide for example Quickened Spells?
And then this: can a quickened spell be made dormant like a locked spell?
To start this up I'll quote again (p.145 SR2)
The magician can assense magical energy surrounding anything that is itself
magical or is being affected by magic: enchanted items, characters under the effect of
spells, magicians casting or maintaining spells and so forth.
Now, is a spell that is affecting someone part of the aura that surrounds him,
or is it a seperate entity surrounding that aura?
Since the casting of a spell, thus the shaping of mana, is the creation of a living thing,
doesn't a spell have an aura of its own?
So to keep it simple : Can a grade 0 initiate "aura mask" a quickened force 2
spell from the astral perception of a non-initiate mage?
And now, more questions:
Does a quickened Increase Reflexes +2 - spell give 2 extra initiative dice in astral space
?
Does a Increase Intelligence +3 spell give 6 extra reaction in Astral Space ?
Suppose a mage with 6(9) Int ,he'd have an astral initiative of 2 x 9 + 15 + 1d6 + 2d6
,for a total of 33 + 3d6 ??????????????
This seems to powerful to me, even with one initiative die (as stated on p.147
of SR2), for too little effort.
So I say that astral body,quickness,strength and reaction are among the Special Attributes
the Increase Attribute-spell mentions, and are thus not affected by these spells.
Or do they only mean that for example Increase Quickness +4 will not give you a +2 on
Reaction and 2 extra dice in the Combat Pool? Or both?
What's right ?
