I know that Blood Elves are in Earthdawn but when do they start appearing in
Shadowrun and just where are they mentioned ?

The Blood Elves are just plain old elves in ED that have performed a magical
ritual that makes thorns grow from their bodies. Their blood drips down
these thorns, and soaks the ground, tainting it with a kind of
misery/perversion that even the Horrors can't stand.
So, I don't think you'll be seeing them at all in SR. When the time of
magic ended, the thorns went away (on those still alive, anyway), and so now
in SR you DO have Blood Elves, just they don't have the thorns which MADE
them blood elves. Nice, huh? Anyway, Alachia is definitely a blood elf, or
former if you will. There's what, 25 immortal characters in SR? (From
Threats.) So, maybe there are other blood elves out there.

To the best of my knowledge, they aren't -- not unless you count the
comment in "Tir Tairngire" about the painting of a woman with thorns
sticking out of her skin. I was making an ED-based inference with the
original comment.
