I worked out a system to remove Boosted Reflexes, but the process of
removal costs essence and plenty of nuyen.

I wrote this up under the assumption that in the 8 years (give or
take) since Boosted Reflexes were released, someone would develop a
way to "remove" them.

The write up can be found at:

Let me know what you think? :)

Page 300 of SR3 offers the description; statistical data can be found in the
table on page 302 of SR3. These page numbers are from the BBB; I presume
that the page count is the same in a BABY, but could be wrong.

From what I've seen, for all intents and purposes BBB3 and BABY are
identical, except of course the BABY has a hard cover and an extra page
that proclaims it to be number X of 1000 of the special collector's
edition. Oh yeah, and of course the autographs that adorn many BABYs
probably aren't in as many BBB3s.

After all of my heated responses. I looked in SR3 and this is my one
Sheepish apology. I was too friggen lazy to dig in the book for the information
and after my responces of last night I searched just a little <as that was all
it took> and discovered the error of my ways. Why couldn't they have put a page
refrence at least with the boosted. I mean their isn't a chart for wired.
sigh... ahh well defeated by inconsistancies.

Ok, from a physiological and anatomical standpoint, and trying to
take into account how FASA has determined the various part of human
anatomy work, here's how I think Boosted vs. Wired Reflexes vs.
Synaptic Acelerator work:

Boosted:
Chemical and electrical conditioning.
Level 1: Creates artifical "Spinal Superhighways" by cauterizing nerves
electrically or chemically lengthening them for impluses to reach along
the spinal column more quickly.
Level 2: Chemical alteration of the adrenal glands or possibly a refined
form of bacterium that lies dormant in the blood producing adrenalin and
increasing the overall adrenalin level in the body. Also Level 1 mods.
Level 3: Electrically cauterizing other major non-spinal nerves and
increasing the amount of overall adrenalin level in the blood.
Due to the process being non-genetic, probably quite painful and more
chemical this process costs essence.

Wired:
Implanted neural boosters and adrenalin stimulators.
Level 1: Electrical wires implanted along all the spinal nerves of the
body (they do not replace the nerves) to increase subconscious reflexes
only. Artifical adrenal stimulators and possibly artifical adrenalin
receptacles to store additional levels of adrenalin to be released as
needed.
Level 2: Electrical wires implanted along the major non-spinal nerves of
the body (also do not replace the nerves) to increase subconscious
reflexes only. Adrenal stimulators are an improved version of level 1
that don't stress the body as much allowing more free-flowing adrenalin.
Level 3: Electrical wires implanted throughout the body, along all major
and minor nervous pathways (original nerves are not replaced). Adrenal
stimulators from level 2 along with increasing the sac size of the adrenal
glands allowing more adrenalin when needed.
Due to the body interfacing with machine this process costs essence.

Synaptic Accelerator:
Genetic modification of major nerves to increase their length, thereby
reducing overall reflex time.
Level 1: Minor lengthening, perhaps 150% to 200% original length.
Level 2: Major lengthening, perhaps reaching from the brain directly to
the muscles.
Due to this being a genetic modification with no machine or
injected synthetic chemical involvement, this takes Body Index.

I think I'm pretty much on the nose here, I can't imagine any
other way how to feasibly do this, even in a sci-fi world, without magic.
Just to back me up, I do have 12 years of medical background (if not
offical education). Momma said I should have been a doctor. ]:-)
