Bottled Demon popped up in the local second-hand store recently, is it any
good? I've not had a chance to flip thru it.

What's the basic premise?

The basic premise of Bottled Demon is a powerful EVIL (see Tinner for
clarification on the term EVIL) ARTIFACT and the game is about the group
trying to, eventually, recover the artifact for Arleesh (a great dragon
living in Seattle) who claims she is going to be able to destroy the darn
thing.

FASA has yet to make a sequel to this module, as the darn thing was never
taken care of properly.

Excellent basic premise, f**ed up by bad execution. If your players enjoy
shouting "Chooooo Choooooo!" as they're dragged by the nose through the
adventure, it should be good for them.

I'm about to run it in my game. Sort of.

The PC's are hired by a kindly old man who needs to sell an artifact to a
bunch of Tir elves. Lone Star busts the meet: the old man is killed, and
the PC's are stuck with the artifact, with Lone Star *and* Tir assassins
after them.

The artifact is a Power Focus which corrupts anyone who uses it. The PC's
find themselves hunted for a while by the various groups who want it, until
this Dog Shaman comes to them and says that she had a dream, and they must
give this thing to a Great Dragon to destroy it. She then gives them the
name of a _non-Great_ dragon.

The players presumably, like idiots, traipse down to the lair of the
dragon and give the thing away. Shortly after, they are accosted by a Great
Dragon and told "You people are shmucks, we have to go take it away now."

Max Rible on his site (www.amurgsval.org) has some suggestions about
running this. WHat I've done in my game is ripped out everything except the
item and the dragon. The runners in my game are about to butt heads but
HARD with the dragon and his Houngan protege -- and guess what they're
gonna find in the lair after the dust settles...
