Getting a new group together always take me a lot of time and effort.
The only method I have used successfully is to find people interested in
Sci-Fi, and Cyberpunk esp. - then give them a copy of some of the SR short
stories.
The original version of the "Into the Shadows" braided anthology works well
for this IMHO.
Once they see the depth and color of the SR world, some will gain more
interest in playing the game. That's your in . . .

That's how you got me into the game... It works well, and gives a good
overview of the different types of characters. If your players like
reading, Charrote's (SP?) Secrets of Power books (The Sam books...) are
another great place, because Sam explores most of the different facets of
Shadowrun from a newbies point of view... Great for the beginners...
