Probably a bank of battaries in the basement, that would make the
most sense. Maybe along with a generator, but remember everything
works on fusion, not fossil fuels, so I don't know what the generator
would burn...

Also, all the computers are optical, so they require a very small
amount of power to run (just get your laser going and thats it), no
trouble with spinning up disks or any of that crap.

Hmmm.... As far a players go, it might be a good idea to hook up a small
detonation charge there with a remote activator.... When the PC's get into
trouble, they can push de button, and at least cause confusion among the
ranks of the enemy. Of course, most Players aren't as intelligent as we
are.

But security cameras, monitors, lights, etc. use up alot of power, I'm
sure. Conmputers would probably have back-up power sources, at least most
important ones would, but you could sure screw up guards by suddenly turning
out the lights. Of course, you could have Metahuman guards, but from what
I've read of the SR corps, there probably aren't many of those.

Of course, it's just my ideas, it would probably screw up the players, too...

And what would happen to a decker who was in a node where the power was
suddenly turned off? He would probably be booted back out of that node,
or maybe dumped back out of the matrix.

I like to think about things like that, since we are trying to role-play
the universe, I'm pretty sure that a gfiven building would not be powered
by magic....Although...

I don't think they really need one -- with SR's optical chips, the way I
understand it the [I'll call them transistors] remain in the state they
were in before you switched off the power.

I'd say he would be dumped. The computer isn't there to run his commands
anymore so the "place" he was has just ceased to exist.
