Bull - in - the - box
>Bull wants to upload his brain to online storage - essentially place

Here is a question for you..Have you seen Threats?? I forget offhand
what the name of the evil scientist is..but he has figured out how to
transfer a person onto the matrix..Something about the brains of
children..I would require Bull to contact that scientist and then I
would decide if it would be possible..This of course would require the
removal of his brain from its protective casing..ANd then I would make
it a fairly high probability of failure...if he is able to kick start
the brain in a cloned body madness should be a fairly high
probability and traumatic stress syndrome should be a requirement..Of
course to avoid the first lots of drugs bathing the brain should keep
it far enough away from understanding its predicament to protect it
from realizing what is going on..and as for the second..[from personal
experience]..PTS should have a trigger of some sort..in this
case..falling/diving-for-cover or tripping/stumbling or going down in
an elevator should all give that fluttery out of body feeling in the
pit of the stomach..enough to trigger a flash back anyway..the
flashbacks should be very severe and incapacitating to begin with and
reducing in severity and occurrence over time..for this sort of thing I
would say at least 6-8 years..And perhaps never going away fully..

>My question now is this ... how many MP's is a metahuman brain gonna
>need for storage space?

I am not even going to try and figure that one out..that is like
asking how much volume does a soul have...answer= more than can be
measured/and smaller than can be contained

>Also, in your collective opinions, could you "zip" a brain?

If this is allowed..I would account for errors in recovery...How many
times have you tried to unzip a file to get the message: there were
errors!

>Would it be easier/safer for Bull to simply place his meat brain on
>life support and the do a direct transfer?

IMO..yes..If a doctor can drop your brain into an armoured metal
skull..it can extend the amount of time the brain stays out of the
body for a slightly longer period..and implant it into a compatible
body..Of course..a Wendigo brain is no doubt quite different from a
human/ork/any other critter brain..both in physical construction and
chemistry..I seriously doubt a wendigo brain would survive in anything
other than a wendigo head..

I disagree..since we are trying to store something that already
exists..not recreate a brain..another factor to keep in mind..Bull's
brain in e-form would not have to function in the same manner as its
present form..since an e-brain would not have to be able to make a
body breath or a heart beat or process audio and video and other
sensory information..this should simplify things a lot..

Although it would probably be a bit easier to create a Holographic
CAT/MRI of Bulls brain and the pathways of the neurons and such in the
brain..and then use this as a blueprint/framework to force a new brain
to grow in and thus retrieve Bull..no..that would not be entirely
correct..make a new brain that would function the same as Bulls old
brain and hopefully retrieve his memories as well..assuming memories
are a function of pathways and not something else..since an electrical
stimulus on different parts of the brain can cause that person to
relive something like the taste of a ham sandwich...Of course this
does not do anything about the Bull that lives in a Wendigo body..this
entity would have to be destroyed in order to avoid confusion...

Halberstrom's Babies is the section you describe, and how he uses young
human brains to use for crimes on the matrix. Quite frankly, it fits
with the Otaku concept from VR2, both of which I have thrown out of my
personal game :-)

ps. A page of text is usually thought as being 4k bytes in size. One 60
second movie with sound in avi format ranges upwards of a meg or so
bytes easily. Just think how many years Bull has been around, then
calculate how many minutes and you will get the idea of how much storage
brainpatterns would take up :-)

I was wondering about this. Unless Tinner rules that the actual persona of
Bull tranfers to the matrix or the cloned receptical as opposed to a copy
there isn't much point in doing anything. If it's not the actual Bull and
just a merorex copy there's no point in doing this at all because thre
original still going to die and leave this world. The only benefit is that
his family might still have a father not the orginal but a copy. But for
Bull himself it kind of defeats the purpose of the whole thing here. So
unless Bull himself survives and not a copy it's better to look for a actual
cure. Maybe Bull can learn magic and astrally project find a typical bad guy
mage blast him in astral and take over his body. But it kind of looks like
Bull's just plain screwed on this one.
