I heard somewhere that the Fish Slapping Dance is one of the classic
python indicator tests. If you show it to a person who has never seen
any Python at all and they crack up laughing, then it's a pretty fair
bet they will enjoy python. If they can't see the point, then chances
are they'll hate the rest of the stuff as well.
I don't think the fish were carp, but I could be wrong
