I am looking for a program that a friend mentioned to me. He said it
is a program for Car Wars for designing vehicles. This includes weapons,
modifications, and all vehicles.
I'm interested in this so that I can change it for Shadowrun vehicle
creation.
If anyone has this or knows where I can get it via VFTP, please let
me know. I graduate Friday and won't have access to the computer after that.

Hmmm. Has anyone done a conversion of the Car Wars rules for shadowrun, I
know that gurth did one for Uncle alberts catalouge a while back but I kind
think it would be cool if there was a set of rules that incorporate both sr
and cws.
last thing What is the maximum theoreticle initive possible (not
munckinising just trying to put together a good moving rule)

And that was another thought from the black depths of my mind.

I've heard it's something like 22 + 5D6 or thereabouts...I once had an
NPC with 18 + 8D6, but that required cheating:) (but it scared the crap
out the player with the highest initiative at the time...)

Okay I hate to do this but last night I got bored so I tired Maxing out a
character, I ended up with a guy that could have a permanate intitive of
(assume all six's are rolled) of 54 and a few times of 61 :)
However I just thought that with that new edge from the companion (the one
where you reroll the six's) theorectically but improbably could be infinate
(unless you use my "loaded dice")

Back to Car Wars:
Who do people handle acceleration of cars??? I was playtesting a raw
version of the conversion of the rules last night (with my brother!!!) and
basically when you start accelerating does the car start when the persons
turn comes round or at the begining of the turn? I spent a long time
working out how long each car had been accelerating, doing stuff like
working out the maximun intitive that the players could get and then
working out if the car was accelerating for that fraction of the turn how
far it would get, how fast it would be going etc. (physic and newtonian
maths helped :) )

Any way I am TOTALLY lost on this one help?

Tiny skull this is your prompt to mickey take. :)

And that was another thought from the black depths of my mind.

I use Car Wars to design smaller SR vehicles (and Fire, Fusion and Steel
for larger ones). Works pretty well overall.

Let's see, if we take the Speed Samurai and replace his wired refs by
move-by-wire 4, a synaptic accelerator 1, and a reaction enhancer 6, he
gets an initiative of 26+6D6. The cost would be horrific in both nuyen and
Essence, but it can be done.

My friend's loaded dice (he bought a set of real ones to match, but now
we won't let him use ANY red dice...) had a tendancy to come up 1's
almost as often as they came up 6's. The weight was on the 1's side (the
6 is directly opposite), so most of the time the weight pulled that side
down and left a 6 [ just in case some of you don't know how loaded dice
work :) ]. But as it goes, the dice also have a tendancy to settle with
the weight on TOP too. I think it broke down into something like 6(60%),
1(30%), 2-5(10%).

"Call of Cthulhu"
A game based on the writings of H.P. Lovecraft (circa 1920, held to be
one of the forerunners of modern horror fiction - the writer, that is,
not the game).
