OK, I'll bite.

For "Into the Shadows" (the story that started it all -- for me anyway):

The dude that plays Chakotay on Star Trek: Voyager
as Ghost-Who-Walks-Inside

Jeff Goldblum
as Dodger

Sharon Stone
as Sally Tsung

Joe Pesci
as Sam Verner

No idea who you're talking about. I'd go for Sly
Stallone, actually, with long hair and feathers and
the face-paint, and give him a VERY limited script. He
can do a lot of glaring and shooting and
muscle-flexing, hough. :)

You do realise he'd have to be a dyed-blonde with
glued-on ears. Damn, an elf poser! :)

Personally, I think Val Kilmer would make a good elf.

Hmmm...not a bad idea.

Joe...PESCI???

*Doc' dies laughing...*

Ummm...as Sam...it'd have to be some kid-type
actor...I know. Marc Blucas (Riley Finn, from Buffy
the Vampire Slayer). :)

For Hart, I'd go for Hudson Leick, the lady who played
Callisto in Xena.

And then the rest...Alec Guinness (done by computer,
of course) as the voice of Dunkelzahn, James Earl
Jones as the voice of Lofwyr, Harrison Ford as Daniel
Howling-Coyote, Ray Park as Harlequin (he just dances
around in facepaint and laughs a lot), Liam Neeson as
Ehran, Carrie Fisher as Sam's mother, Mark Hamill as
Sam's father (hey, just write 'em in, damn it!) and
Ewan McGregor gets a walk-on piece as the security
guard Sam shoots.

Cool. :)

Haven't read the book (yet?) But please put in Bruce Willis, he's a great
actor for those type of things. Also Sarah michelle geller. And the kid from
The Sopranos, I forgot his name. He can make a cool decker.

Actually, I was kind of thinking Jack Nicholson as Lofwyr (in human
guise). I may have spoken in haste regarding the role of Sally
Tsung. While Sharon Stone would certainly still do justice to that skimpy
little "duster & booty shorts" outfit on the cover of SRI & II, let's
also
consider Ashley Judd, Mira Sorvino, and Amanda Tapping (Major Samantha
Carter on Stargate SG-1) for that part.

And the entire cast of "Space Cowboys" starring as the Echo Mirage team.

The other guy's choice is better. Ghost-Who-Walks (an homage to the
Phantom, I bet) would be treated poorly to be given Sylvester Stallone.

Hmmm...maybe...as a dragon his voice would be too
nasal and reedy. Dragon voices need to be deep and/or
dignified (Jimmy E. Jones and Mr. Guinness
respectively). It'd be hard to take a dragon who
sounded like Gomer Pyle, or Pee Wee Herman...or, God
forbid, Mr. Bean...seriously. :)

Majel Barrett Roddenberry is the woman who does the computer voices for
all of the Trek series. She also does the "last week on Star Trek"
synopses in the second part of a two-parter.

She's also played several roles in Trek.

The top paragraph were all Star Wars actors/actresses. Majel Barret played a
few different roles in the Star Trek series...most notably as the ship's

Either James Garner or Donald Sutherland, take your pick. (Both pretty
good actors, methinks.)

James Garner, Donald Sutherland, and William Devane round out the old guy
cast. They all play 1950-60's era US test pilots (pre-Mercury program) who
are called back into service by NASA to fix an ailing Soviet satellite
threatening to re-enter Earth's atmosphere carrying a nuclear
payload. It's probably not showing in Australia yet, so I won't ruin the
plot for you beyond what I've already revealed. I haven't seen it yet
myself either, but my Dad liked it a lot.

I just figure you'd need to have a few grizzled 60-70 year old actors to
play the "Grumpy Old Men" as veterans of Echo Mirage.

Lets see what my memory is like:

Number one in the pilot episode;
Nurse Chapel in the original Star Trek, (and the first movie?)
Lwaxana Troi (Mother of Diana) in Next Gen, and DS 9,
and of course the computer and occasional narrator thingy in all the others.
(Not sure if she did the animated series though.

Allot of the actors were talking about are probably way outside the
budget, but it is fun to think about who you would put in what movie (I've
cast X-men and Dragonlance about a million times each).

Although I haven't read the book everyone is casting I would like to play
too *pout*.

young blonde guy?
How about the guy who played the main character in "Hackers". He was also
in "Plunket & McClain", and "Trainspotting".

Native American
If he is supposed to be young I would suggest the guy who played
"Wind-in-his-hair" from "Dances With Wolves". If your looking for
someone
a bit older I would have to go with "Billy" from "Predator".

Lastly if your looking for any sort of street sam/mercenary I would have
to go with the guy from "Boiler Room" and "Pitch Black"(?) (I'm not
even
sure of his characters' names). He has that kick ass voice, a tough look
(he used to be a bouncer), and although I doubt his price has gone up that
much with his limited body of work he may even do it for a little less...
in an interview he said that when he would get done working at the bar he
would go to a friend's house and role play into the morning. He apparently
loves to game.

Of course, this thread is hard to resist and has doubtless been done to
death previously on the list, but I .... just .... gotta ... have my say.
Obviously none of these folks will be chosen due to the low budget of the
potential film.

Dodger - Kevin Bacon (he's skinny, he has the face to go elf, and I think
it'd be a neat twist to have his gravelly voice delivering lines in faux
forsoothly style rather than some fop doing it in a British-y alto)

Hart - Famke Jannsen (picture her with blonde hair...)

Ghost-who-walks-Inside - Danny Trejo (he's got the 'tough' act down real
well)

Sally Tsung - I kinda think Sharon Stone's getting a little old for this
role. What about Natasha Henstridge? She's got the ability to play 'tough'
as well as 'hot'. :) previously-mentioned Angelina Jolie would be a not-bad
choice as well, especially after she finishes buffing up to play Lara Croft.

Sam Verner - to me, this has gotta be a youngish 'everyman' kinda guy, more
charismatic than pretty. I'm tempted to suggest Ron Livingston solely on the
humour implicit in the Office Space connection (corporate wageslave...) but
Ethan Hawke is probably closer to what I'm thinking.

The Johnson - Kurtwood Smith (character actor, probably best currently known
as the irritable 'Red' on That 70s show). POssibly in a tag-team Johnson duo
with Pete Postlethwaite (Kobayashi from the Usual Suspects. I really liked
that flick).

Cog The Fixer - Someone smooth, powerful, a little seedy. Gabriel Byrne.

Director: Gotta be Bryan Singer; not only was The Usual Suspects a
Shadowrunish movie, but he's already demonstrated the ability to deliver a
cult movie to a mass market (X-men)

And the Mr. Johnson: Agent Smith from the Matrix: I can't think of a better
one. ;-)

For Dodger, I'm undecided between Jeff Goldblum and the blond, skinny
british guy from The Replacements.

For Peter Clarris (from Changeling), I'd cast Leonard Di Caprio. Not that
he's a got actor, but jsut that I'd like to see that moron get turned in a
grey fleshy horror. ;-)

For Kham, I'd go for the guy that plays the "freak monk" from In The Name of
the Rose (same actor who played one of the cavemen in that silent movie
about the war for fire).

For Neko Noguchi, I'd go for Jet Li, but just because he's got the looks:
he'd need some serious working on "being a believable character".

Harrisson Ford as Ryan Mercury.

Anybody has any idea on a role they could give Jean Reno? I just love that
actor! He's got the coolest way of "being there, doin' nothing".

I think Donald Sutherland would make a great Corporate Executive bad
guy. And for a little irony, include his son Kiefer playing one of
the runners. :)

Don't blame Connery for that, blame the script writers... Although I
would go so far as to call it a bad movie, just not a great movie.

Isn't he the one that did the excellent movie 'Much ado about nothing" and a
few other Shakesphere ones? I'm not really boned up on these actors, but I
think it was him.

I'll have to take your word for it. I do NOT watch
Star Trek (except in flicking through channels). :)

Hmmm...if Ghost is a Phantom homage, what about Billy
Zane? ;)

At the risk of proving myself a total dweeb: Majel Barret Roddenberry did
the computer's voice and reprised her role as Nurse Chapel for the
animated series. However, Nichelle Nichols (a.k.a. Lt. Uhura) was the
voice (and purr) of M'Ress.

Right initials, wrong actor. The Shakespearean actor you're thinking of is
Kenneth Brannaugh.

Not according to their respective filmographies.

http://us.imdb.com/Name?Nichols,+Nichelle

http://us.imdb.com/Name?Barrett,+Majel

http://us.imdb.com/Title?0069637

They're not infallible, but they're right a helluva lot more than they're
wrong, and those credits jive with my own geek-like memory.

Actually if anything, he'd be perfect for a Duke Nuk'em movie. Let's face it,
especially in the latter games Duke was based off of Ash. They even used most
of his key lines. "Hail to the King baby!"

Ah, that's him. Damn good movie, by the way. All set in the proper time
frame, sticks largely to the script, and even though the speech is Olde
English, it is still mostly understandable. A quantum leap ahead of
Romeo+Juliet.
